This Division is for 9 & 10 year olds. It is the first level of competitive instructional programs. Modified Cal Ripken League Babe Ruth Baseball Major League and SPFYBA rules are followed. Players both 9 & 10 years old will do all the pitching. Bunting and stealing are permitted. Managers and coaches are not allowed on the playing field during the games. An effort will be made to have 2 umpires per game, one for the bases, and one behind the plate. Every player will play a minimum of 3 innings per game in the field, and there is roster batting. The games are 6 innings long. We will not keep team standings or statistics during the season and we will have a Tournament during the last week of the season to determine the Champion. This allows the players to learn the basics and improve their skills without the pressure of winning. There is a 13 game schedule during the 10 week season with games being played on weeknights and Saturdays. Players will be evaluated in January and each player will be drafted on a team by their manager. There is an All Star game with the players selected in a manner decided upon by the managers.
