The Jr. Tee Ball Division is comprised of six year olds. This is the first exposure that children have to organized baseball in the
Scotch Plains / Fanwood community through SPFYBA. The main objective in Jr. Tee Ball is to teach the players the fundamentals of the game, fielding, throwing and hitting. Each week the teams will have one practice and one game. Games are played on Saturday afternoons and last for one hour. The first half hour on game day will be instructional, and the second half hour will be a game format. All players will play in the field at one time. All defensive plays will be made to first base. Scores, standings and outs will not be recorded. On offense, the teams will have Roster Batting and the entire team will hit before switching with the other team. All players will hit off the Tee for the entire season. Baserunners will advance one base at a time and remain on base even if they are thrown out. All rules and regulations are in accordance with the Cal Ripken Babe Ruth Baseball Rules.
