This Division is for 8 year old players with the purpose of introducing and instructing more baseball skills than the Tee Ball Divisions. Modified Cal Ripken League Babe Ruth Baseball Minor League and SPFYBA rules are followed. The players will be pitched to, using a regular baseball, by their Manager or one of their Coaches. This is an instructional, non-competitive division, however 3 outs will be observed and runs can score to help teach the players more about how baseball is played. We do not maintain player and team statistics in this division. There is roster batting, and each player will play a minimum of 3 innings per game. The games are 6 innings long. We stress the basics and fundamentals of baseball. The coaches are allowed on the field during the games to help instruct and to umpire. After the third game of the season the players start to pitch in order to teach them the fundamentals of pitching. Shorts are not allowed, as sliding is permitted. The teams are named after professional Minor League Baseball teams. The game schedule will be played on Saturday afternoons. Practices are scheduled and are normally at least one per week on weekdays.
